What Makes Gyokuro Special
Grown under shade for several weeks before harvest, Gyokuro develops a higher concentration of Theanine, giving it a rich umami taste followed by a smooth, natural sweetness. The shading process also enhances the tea’s vibrant green color and aroma. This is a tea that requires skill and dedication, reflecting the time-honored traditions of Japanese tea farming.
A Wellness Elixir in Every Cup
Gyokuro is naturally rich in Theanine, an amino acid known to promote relaxation, improve focus, and support healthy blood pressure levels. It also contains essential vitamins such as C, B2, and E to support overall health. Thanks to its high levels of Catechins, especially EGCG, Gyokuro delivers powerful antioxidants that protect your cells from free radicals, support metabolism, and promote a sense of well-being.
Crafted by Yamaguchien – Celebrated Japanese Tea Brand with Global Recognition

What is the Ideal Water Temperature for Brewing Gyokuro?
When preparing Gyokuro, the water temperature is absolutely crucial. Unlike regular green tea, Gyokuro is brewed at a much lower temperature. Typically around 60℃, to bring out its naturally sweet, umami rich flavor without bitterness. Using water that is too hot can overwhelm the delicate taste and aroma of this luxurious tea.
