Brew Details
Brew Details
1. Warm the Bowl & Whisk
Pour a little hot water into the bowl to warm it up and soften the whisk. Discard the water and dry the bowl.
2. Sift the Matcha
Place 2 scoops of matcha powder into the bowl through a fine sieve. This helps prevent clumps and ensures a smooth drink.
3. Add Hot Water
Pour in about 2 ounces (60ml) of hot water. Don’t use boiling water—it’ll burn the tea and make it bitter.
4. Whisk It Right
Use the Chasen in a quick “M” or “W” motion to froth the tea. You're aiming for a layer of fine foam on top. This usually takes about 15-20 seconds.
5. Sip & Enjoy
Drink it straight from the bowl. The flavor should be umami-rich, creamy, and slightly sweet.
